Each unit is managed on a day to day basis by the unit manager. All managers are RMN trained and have a minimum of two years experience working within a similar field / environment.

All support workers are trained to a minimum of NVQ level 2. Senior support workers are trained to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

All staff undertake a comprehensive in house training schedule that is revised each year. The training schedule includes all mandatory training plus amongst other things:

• Understanding and knowledge of mental health needs.
• Recognition of signs and symptoms of mental health deterioration.
• Recovery focussed interaction / interventions.
• Crisis intervention training.
• Anti-discrimination.
• Non-toleration of abuse.

External training courses are undertaken as appropriate.
